Get up close and learn about English Heritage's major conservation project on the Iron Bridge. Hard Hat tours will offer the chance to join the contractor and gain an insight into the work being undertaken to repair and protect this pioneering structure for the future.
Tours will take place at 12.30pm on 11th April, 16th May, 5th June, 20th June, 27th June, 11th July, 22nd August and will last approximately one hour. Pre Booking is essential as places are limited to 10 people max per tour.
Please note: This event involves entering a construction site. There will be hazards associated with the work, steps, uneven terrain and narrow spaces including accessing site via ladders. There are no places to stop and rest en-route. There will be a site health & safety induction and visitors will be required to complete an induction form, and provide photo ID. Visitors must wear clothing appropriate for the outdoor environment and sturdy footwear. Please advise us if you have any pre-existing medical conditions that may affect your ability to complete the tour. Tours will not take place in extreme weather. Tours are for over 18s only and are not recommended for people with limited mobility or anyone afraid of heights/enclosed spaces. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided and must be worn.
