My Fair Lady

On a cold night in Covent Garden in 1912, Professor Henry Higgins, an eccentric expert in speech and phonetics, boasts that he can pass a flower girl off as a duchess simply by teaching her “proper” English. One such flower girl, the idealistic cockney Eliza Doolittle, volunteers for Higgins’ tuition. As Eliza learns to imitate the Edwardian ideal of the perfect lady and elevate herself from her working class roots, she finds that her honesty and humility isolate her from the upper-class. Higgins is forced to evaluate his misogynistic and classist views and learn to respect Eliza as an empowered modern woman. Eventually the student and teacher must confront each other and determine if their relationship has a future beyond the Embassy Ball.

My Fair Lady is one of Broadway’s most iconic golden-age musicals, later adapted into the Oscar-winning 1964 film starring Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn. Its classic songs include “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?”, “I Could Have Danced All Night” and “Get Me to the Church On Time”.

My Fair Lady is beloved by audiences of all ages and ideal for families.
