This year’s week-long festival comprises 29 walks and events ranging from short strolls to all-day walks. Themed walks include the Tub Boat Canal on Monday 10 September.
Larkin in Wellington: tracing the poet in residence and a Memory Walk both on Tuesday 11 September.
The Industrial Heritage of The Wrekin Forest and an exploration of the canals and early industrial history of North/East Telford both on Friday 14 Septembe and the 50 Tree Trail at Dothill Local Nature Reserve (LNR) on Saturday 15 September.
Continuing with the Telford50 theme there is a chance to walk the whole of the Telford50 / T50 50 Mile Trail in 6 parts.
There are visits to the Telford Steam Railway at Horsehay, Roddington Vineyard, Denso Eco Trail and Garden, Madeley Pitmound LNR , Smalley Hill LNR and Attingham Park . There will be an evening of talks on Telford: the Forest City at 50, focussing on ecology and the T50 50 Mile Trail, a Film Night hosted by the Wellington Orbit and a Beetle Drive.
Booking is essential for many of the themed events which, as far as possible, are free although donations would be gratefully received.
