Thank you for visiting Volunteer Telford and Wrekin and for your interest in our programme.

We already have lots of active volunteers that give their time to make a difference within Telford and Wrekin. The aim of this website is to target the energy of some of our volunteers on the areas of greatest need within the Borough.

Through this website you will be able to promote your volunteering opportunities and receive applications from volunteers. This should complement any other methods that you currently use to recruit volunteers and to promote the work of your organisation.

Alzheimer's Society

(Glebe Centre) We are the UK's leading dementia support and research charity, here for anyone affected by any form of dementia. We provide information and practical and emotional support to help people live well with dementia.

Alzheimer's Society- Staffordshire and Shropshire

Alzheimer’s Society are the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. Through our network of local services, we touch the lives of over 30,000 people every week, providing practical services and support for people with dementia and their carers.

Beanstalk Shropshire

Beanstalk (formerly Volunteer Reading Help) is a national charity that aims to help children to become confident readers. Beanstalk recruits and trains volunteers to work with primary school children who find reading a challenge.

Bromford - Telford

Bromford provide affordable housing along with the support, training and employment opportunities that give customers - many of them vulnerable, disabled or disadvantaged - the chance to realise their potential and transform their lives and those of their families.

Carers Trust 4all

Carers Trust 4all provide practical and emotional support to help reduce the stress of caring faced by unpaid carers of all ages. We offer carers the chance to have a meaningful break, away from their caring responsibilities, safe in the knowledge that their loved one will be well looked after.

Donnington Lifelong Learning Centre Community Centre based in Donnington

Donnington Partnership Community Cafe based in a Community Centre, providing meals to elderly people and meals in the cafe.

Energize Volunteer Academy

Energize Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin is the County Sports Partnership, we work with a number of organisations within Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin to help people ‘Get their Hearts Beating Faster’, as we believe that there is an activity out there for everyone to become more active.

Friends of Telford Town Park

The Friends of Telford Town Park started in 2003 with a small group of 3 people, who felt that the Park needed some extra care and attention. The group was formally constituted in July 2004 and currently consists of over 20 members from all walks of life.

Gower Heritage & Enterprise Foundation

A Registered charity working to restore the former Gower building in St. Georges, Telford.

Haughton School is a Primary Phase Special School based in Madeley, Telford.


A national charity, for adults with learning disabilities

Home-Start Telford & Wrekin

Home-Start recruits and trains volunteers, who are parents, to offer support and friendship to families with at least one child under 5 who are experiencing difficulties and hardship. Volunteers visit families at home on a weekly basis for approximately an hour and a half.

Ironbridge Coracle Trust

Ironbridge Coracle Trust works to advance the culture and heritage of the craft of coracles and coracle making in the Ironbridge Gorge and on the River Severn for the benefit of the public.

Lakewood Court

We are a residential service for adults with learning disabilities and complex care needs .We support customers daily in all of there care needs 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Also offering a respite service for those that may require it .

Mentor Link

Mentor Link provides one to one social and emotional support to vulnerable and distressed children and young people by providing them with a volunteer mentor or counsellor.

Move on Plus CIC

Move-on-plus is a re-enabling project for vulnerable people. We have a community cafe called King Street Cafe where residents are encouraged to get work experience. The client groups are adults either with a mental health or a learning difficulty diagnosis.

National Childbirth Trust Telford and Wrekin Branch

The National Childbirth Trust (NCT) supports parents for the first 1000 days from conception to the second birthday of their child. The NCT operates antenatal classes and the local branches run nearly new sales, bumps and babes groups and hold other events.

NYAS-West Midlands

NYAS is a UK Charity providing socio-legal services. We offer information, advice, advocacy and legal representation to children, young people and vulnerable adults through a network of dedicated paid workers and volunteers throughout England and Wales.

Our Arleston Community Project

The Our Arleston Community Project is based at the Watling Community Centre in Arleston. The aim of the project is to help develop a sense of pride and community spirit in the local community of Arleston and neighbouring streets.

Reviive CIC Telford

Reviive is a community interest company. We offer an extensive range of quality, re-used home furnishings. Be it deco, modern, traditional or funky – we have the styles.


RNIB support people with sight loss. RNIBs Technology Support Squad enables people with sight loss to become independent, assured technology users, and enjoy the multiple uses of technology in everyday life and in their own communities.

Senior Citizens Forum, Telford & The Wrekin

A small charity, funded by the Big Lottery, aiming to support people in middle and later life, helping them to access information, have their say and keep physically and mentally active.

Shropshire Army Cadet Force

Shropshire Army Cadet Force is a voluntary youth organisation sponsored by the MOD. We offer young people aged 13 to 18 exciting opportunities for fun, friendship and excitement while taking part in a wide range of activities; all under the supervision of our trained volunteer instructors.

Shropshire Disability Network

Shropshire Disability Network (SDN) was formed to provide a powerful collective voice for disabled people in Shropshire. We have two prime tools a website & a newsletter called YourVoice. We hold quarterly meetings with keynote speakers which we hope will enthuse & inspire. We are all volunteers.

Shropshire Festivals

We are Shropshire Festivals, hosting Telfood: bringing the very best of local craft and food producers to the QEII Arena in Telford on 30th/31st July! We would be so grateful for volunteers to help us in the build up, the running of the festival and assistance with breakdown! Any help is welcome!

Shropshire Languages Society

Shropshire Languages Society is a non-profit charitable organisation which works to promote the study of languages and sign language from an academic, professional and social perspective. We support people whose first language is not English and provide non-statutory learning opportunities.

St Georges Community - First Steps

We are a group of volunteers working towards a Community Action Plan for St Georges, Telford. We have been selected to take part in The Community Developments Foundation First Steps Programme. Our aims are to think about what we love about St Georges and what we want to adapt, change and include.

Telford Aqua Swimming Club

Telford Aqua SC is for all ages , we aim to teach, train and develop all Competitive and Synchronized swimmers ,from beginners to competition standard. The club is run by volunteers with sessions over 6 Pools including Oakengates, Abraham Darby, HLC , Wrekin College, William Brookes & RAF Cosford.

Telford Family Wellbeing Service

The Telford Family Wellbeing Service helps support families to build confidence leading them to independently access community services. If you would like the chance to work with vunerable families, as a befriender, get in touch today.

Telford Foodbank

Telford Foodbank opened in April 2013 to provide emergency food parcels to individuals and families in times of crisis.

Telford Raiders Rugby League Club

Telford Raiders Rugby League club provides participation opportunites for male and females from 6 years old to 60+. We have Senior and Youth mens teams. We have a fun and fitness Primary session for boys and girls 6 - 10. Non-contact social 'Touch' sessions are fun for men and women aged 14+.

Telford Samaritans

Samaritans provide emotional support to people. We give them a safe place where they can talk in confidence about how they are feeling. Samaritans volunteers are from all walks of life who understand that sometimes you cannot talk about things to the people around you.

The Accord Group

The Accord Group is one of the largest housing and social care organisations in the Midlands. We are not for profit and specialise in involving customers and communities in shaping homes and services. We work together with local communities and individuals by giving people real choices.

The Children's Society Independent Visitor Service

The Children’s Society is a national charity that runs local projects, helping children and young people when they are at their most vulnerable, and have nowhere left to turn. We also campaign for changes to laws affecting children and young people.

Tranquil Times Training Academy

Tranquil Times is a training academy, alongside this we also have a two charity shops. Tranquil Times teaches beauty, holistic and spiritual courses.


Up-Start is a charity-funded organisation designed to work with volunteers between the ages of 15-24, to engage them in life skills, support their communities, and ultimately help them gain a pathway into the working world.

Victim Support Telford & Shropshire

An independent charity helping people cope with the effects of crime, by providing free and confidential support and information.

Walkabout Wrekin

We are a small charity which offer FREE walks all led by trained walk leaders. We currently have over 18 walks on offer, to suit all ages and abilities, throughout the Telford and Wrekin area. We are accredited under the Walking for Health scheme

Wellington Cottage Care Trust

Registered charity that runs a nurse led day care centre for adults with medical care needs and disabilities. A full programme of fun activities such as art and craft, music, exercise and games is provided. We also have a charity shop which raises money for the day care centre.

Wellington Peace Garden

A garden dedicated to the concept of world peace is situated outside the new civic centre in Wellington. Telford & Wrekin Council donated a patch of land for the garden in front of its new building in Wellington in 2012.

Wellington Walkers Are Welcome

To provide free walks in & around the Wellington area, to represent the interests of walkers, to organise the annual Wellington Walking Festival, to help maintain our local footpaths and to promote the town, the Wrekin Forest area & the borough as an excellent destination for walkers.

Workers' Educational Association (WEA)

The Workers' Educational Association (WEA) is a charity and the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education. Our Shropshire office is in Ketley, Telford. From here we plan and organise courses across the whole of Shropshire, but particularly in Telford.

Wyldwoods CIC

Wyldwoods CIC provides meaningful experiences and activities to people with experience of mental health issues, carers, young people who are not in education, employment and training and people with additional needs and learning difficulties.
