We already have lots of active volunteers that give their time to make a difference within Telford and Wrekin. The aim of this website is to target the energy of some of our volunteers on the areas of greatest need within the Borough.

A national charity, for adults with learning disabilities
Home-Start recruits and trains volunteers, who are parents, to offer support and friendship to families with at least one child under 5 who are experiencing difficulties and hardship. Volunteers visit families at home on a weekly basis for approximately an hour and a half.
Ironbridge Coracle Trust works to advance the culture and heritage of the craft of coracles and coracle making in the Ironbridge Gorge and on the River Severn for the benefit of the public.
We are a residential service for adults with learning disabilities and complex care needs .We support customers daily in all of there care needs 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Also offering a respite service for those that may require it .
Mentor Link provides one to one social and emotional support to vulnerable and distressed children and young people by providing them with a volunteer mentor or counsellor.
Move-on-plus is a re-enabling project for vulnerable people. We have a community cafe called King Street Cafe where residents are encouraged to get work experience. The client groups are adults either with a mental health or a learning difficulty diagnosis.

Telford Foodbank opened in April 2013 to provide emergency food parcels to individuals and families in times of crisis.
Telford Raiders Rugby League club provides participation opportunites for male and females from 6 years old to 60+. We have Senior and Youth mens teams. We have a fun and fitness Primary session for boys and girls 6 - 10. Non-contact social 'Touch' sessions are fun for men and women aged 14+.
Samaritans provide emotional support to people. We give them a safe place where they can talk in confidence about how they are feeling. Samaritans volunteers are from all walks of life who understand that sometimes you cannot talk about things to the people around you.

Registered charity that runs a nurse led day care centre for adults with medical care needs and disabilities. A full programme of fun activities such as art and craft, music, exercise and games is provided. We also have a charity shop which raises money for the day care centre.
A garden dedicated to the concept of world peace is situated outside the new civic centre in Wellington. Telford & Wrekin Council donated a patch of land for the garden in front of its new building in Wellington in 2012.
To provide free walks in & around the Wellington area, to represent the interests of walkers, to organise the annual Wellington Walking Festival, to help maintain our local footpaths and to promote the town, the Wrekin Forest area & the borough as an excellent destination for walkers.
