The 21st century conversion from a cow byre is a cosy and stylish holiday cottage hideaway for two people. (Take a virtual tour on StreetView) This self-catering accommodation in the Shropshire Hills gives a luxury rural retreat with peace and tranquillity. The holiday let is situated a short distance from the owners’ house, while the old farmyard stone walls create shelter and privacy without impeding the interlocking views down the valley. The cottage accommodation consists: a large open-plan electrically heated living room with wood-burning stove, picture window and flat screen television; fully equipped kitchen/dining area with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher; one separate double bedroom; shower room with hand basin and WC. There is a double sofa-bed in the living room for separate sleeping. Floor area is 44sq m, 475 sq ft.
A separate laundry room in an adjacent building has washing machine, tumble-dryer, indoor drying space and a shared freezer. There is a lot of space for car parking, and a sheltered courtyard area with garden table, parasol and chairs. The cottage is all on one level, with a ramp to the door, so it is suitable for some visitors with disabilities and/or restricted mobility – we would be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.
This cottage is pet-friendly for small well-behaved dogs, provided they are kept separate from the sleeping areas at night. We make a small charge of £15 per dog to cover provision and laundry of additional furniture covers. Dogs must be accompanied at all times and kept on a lead.
Rent includes bed-linen, towels and electricity. Also provided are normal kitchen consumables like washing up liquid, dishcloth, pan scrubber, tea towels and dish washer tablets, plus shampoo and soap for the bathroom. We provide a small welcome basket with sachets of tea, coffee hot chocolate, sugar, biscuits and home made preserves. “Fruits of the farm” are available – fresh soft fruits and eggs in particular – dependent upon season. One basket of logs is provided for the fire, additional baskets can be bought for £5, or you can obtain seasoned firewood from local shops.
