By Weston Park, 10 June 2020, 9:45AM

Weston Park, the stately home on the Shropshire \ Staffordshire border will welcome visitors back to the estate from Tuesday 16 June.

The Government has quietly released guidance on allowing ticketed parks and gardens to open and the estate has been working on opening the gates since.

The Park and Gardens will open on Tuesday 16th June with visitors required to pre-book their arrival time slot in advance.

Colin Sweeney, CEO of the Weston Park Foundation says: “We are delighted that we are going to be able to welcome visitors back to Weston to enjoy the great outdoors.  The grounds are looking particularly beautiful at this time of year and we have a 1,000 acres of wide open space and walking routes all within the iconic Capability Brown parkland.”

Weston will be adopting the Visit Safe mark devised by Historic Houses to ensure that social distancing and hygiene measures are adhered to, ensuring a safe and warm welcome back to the Estate.

Visitors will be able to enjoy 1,000 acres of Capability Parkland following special walking routes, relax in the formal gardens and say hello to the deer in the Medieval Deer Park.

A one way route will take visitors around the beauty of Capability Brown’s Temple Wood which is in bloom with both azaleas and wildlife.

The Stables will be offering a take-out service including hot and cold drinks, ice creams, homemade cake and hot and cold sandwiches to take away.

Access is via pre-booked tickets and time slot with admission priced at: Adults £8 and Children £4 (+booking fee) visit for more information or to buy tickets.

Areas open to explore include Temple Wood, the wider parkland, Walled Garden and Formal Gardens.  A Parkland Walks map will be available at the admissions point highlighting various walking routes where visitors can get off the beaten track.

Areas which are closed include the House, maze, woodland adventure playground, miniature railway and STUFF! craft room.
